Abstract
The behavior of the Geminid meteor stream is affected by gravitational
perturbations. The evolution over 5000 yr, 500 yr forward and 4500 yr
back has been determined. The investigations prove that the Geminid
stream could not be intersecting the orbit of the earth around 900 yr
ago and so another explanation for the fireballs seen in the 11th
century must be sought.
